KTM double Manufacturers’ Champion 2025! Laengenfelder claims MX2 gold

KTM double Manufacturers’ Champion 2025! Laengenfelder claims MX2 gold

The 2025 season will be written into motocross history in golden letters for KTM. Despite tough months full of challenges and restructuring, the Orange Army proved to the world that the READY TO RACE slogan is not an empty phrase, but the brand’s DNA.

During the dramatic finale in Australia, Simon Laengenfelder clinched the MX2 World Championship title – the first time since 2011 that a German rider has taken the crown in FIM Motocross. For the 21-year-old Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider, it was the realization of a dream and a reward for years of hard work and two difficult seasons marked by injuries.

In Darwin, the pressure was immense – Laengenfelder started with only a 16-point advantage over defending champion Kay de Wolf, and a tropical downpour along with a red-flagged second moto meant the championship fight came down to the very last minutes. In the end, the German secured second place at the Grand Prix of Australia and celebrated the overall title with a nine-point lead.

This victory is not only Laengenfelder’s personal success but also a confirmation of the legend of the KTM 250 SX-F. The machine that has defined the MX2 class for two decades claimed its sixteenth world championship title since 2004. It’s a record unmatched by any other manufacturer and clear proof that KTM’s technology, experience, and READY TO RACE philosophy continue to provide an edge over the competition. Laengenfelder has joined the elite ranks of KTM MX2 World Champions – from Musquin, Roczen, Herlings, and Prado to Adamo – becoming a symbol of the new generation that will write the next chapters of this story.

And this is only the beginning of the reasons to celebrate. In Darwin, KTM secured a double manufacturers’ crown – in both MX2 (1110 points) and MXGP (1026 points)! The KTM 250 SX-F and KTM 450 SX-F proved their absolute dominance by winning both categories in the same season.

In MXGP, 18-year-old Lucas Coenen shone brightly, finishing the season 2nd overall and collecting no fewer than five Grand Prix victories. Despite injuries, Jeffrey Herlings added another five wins and ended the year inside the top five, once again confirming that he remains one of the true icons of world motocross.

Alongside champion Laengenfelder, Andrea Adamo (3rd place overall in MX2) and Sacha Coenen (4th place) also shone brightly. Together, they built the Orange domination that brought KTM to the top of the manufacturers’ standings.

All of this comes in the shadow of the difficult months the brand went through from November to June. Internal challenges, restructuring, and turbulence could have shaken the very foundations of the company. Yet KTM emerged from the crisis stronger than ever, showing the world that even in the toughest moments it never stops fighting for victory.

At our shop, we experience this success with deep emotion. We are proud that we were, are, and will continue to be part of the Orange KTM world. Did we ever doubt? Never! Because Orange blood runs through our veins – for better and for worse.
